Eleocharis acicularis
Eleocharis acicularis, commonly known as the dwarf hairgrass, is a popular foreground aquatic plant in aquascaping, prized for its fine, grassy texture and ability to form dense, carpet-like mats in the substrate. Native to North America, it is often used to create a lush, natural look in aquariums, resembling a grassy meadow or lawn. The plant consists of thin, needle-like leaves that grow in tufts, typically reaching 2–5 cm (0.8–2 inches) in height under submerged conditions, although it can grow taller in emersed setups.
